A Hand to Hold
Normally I'm fine on my own
I'm my own person
My own woman
And I can take on the world
But there are levels of pain even I cannot handle
When everything I've done catches up to me
Leaving me voiceless
Motionless
Helpless
And scared
This is when I need a hand to hold
When I need someone to just be there with me
Give me a link to reality
Tell me it's going to be okay
Remind me that I'm loved
Reassure me that they aren't going anywhere
But I have no hand to hold
In the middle of the night
I am alone
Always alone
No one hears me cry
No one holds me tight
This is just the way things are
I need a hand to hold
But I am always alone
Looks like the hand I'll hold
Is my own
Normally I'm fine on my ownI'm my own person
My own woman
And I can take on the world
But there are levels of pain even I cannot handle
When everything I've done catches up to me
Leaving me voiceless
Motionless
Helpless
And scared
This is when I need a hand to hold
When I need someone to just be there with me
Give me a link to reality
Tell me it's going to be okay
Remind me that I'm loved
Reassure me that they aren't going anywhere
But I have no hand to hold
In the middle of the night
I am alone
Always alone
No one hears me cry
No one holds me tight
This is just the way things are
I need a hand to hold
But I am always alone
Looks like the hand I'll hold
Is my own
